‘Mithunam’ Nominated For Oscars

Midhunam movie , an un-traditional one directed by Tanikella Bharani has been nominated to the Oscars as per the references given Film Federation of India, Mumbai. Reports say that telugu film producers council has sent a letter to the producer of Midhunam stating that the film has nominated in ‘Best Foreign Language Film Award category’. Tanikella to hit back with writing

Lengendary actor Tanikella Bharani is also well known for his abilities to write – he was in industry for decades penning some really good dialogues and screenplays, besides acting. Lately, Tanikella also proved his excellent directorial abilities with his film on old couples, “Midhunam” – the film went on to strike a chord with many hearts who could relate to the story and treatment. Bharani was away for a while from penning and looks like he will be back soon – sources say that he is currently writing dialogues for the new film, Ori Devudo. The industry already has star writers now like Kona Venkat and Gopi Mohan, but all know that Bharani is a veteran when it comes to the  craft – let us hope we will get to see more of his writings soon.

Allari to be a ‘Bandhipotu’

After tasting a relishing success with Anthakamundu Aa Tharavaata, director Mohan Kriishna Indraganti is planning a next film with Allari Naresh, titled Bandhipotu. The film will have an appealing comedy element and Allari has been approached to play the lead. The star is also busy shooting for another project directed by Ravi Babu. Charan not in Meluha?

Way back there was a buzz floating that Bollywood Star director Karan Johar has roped in Ram Charan Tej to play the role in his next film based on a popular book by Amish – ‘The Immortals of Meluha’. The book was titled as ‘Meluhey ke Mrutyunjay’ in Hindi and was released on great demand. The trilogy written by Amish is a best seller and is all about Lord Shiva and his facets as a normal man before becoming a God. Now, the latest to the news is that Charan may not be the one to be in Meluha and he is currently trying very hard to promote his Bollywood debut, Zanjeer and make it work. Charan has been recently in the news for his uncomfortable behaviour on TV shows and constant claiming that Zanjeer was ‘thrusted’ upon him by his dad Chiru after discussing with Big B – something surely isn’t right. While we wonder if the film will indeed bring out the best for Charan, let us hope that the Telugu version will manage to see the light of the day amidst ongoing riots in Samaikyandhra.

Shruti Hassan in Aagadu?

Continuing the ongoing debate of who is going to star opposite Mahesh’s next film directed by Srinu Vaitla – the winds look favourable for Shruti Hassan, if one has to go by the buzz in the inner circles. Tamannah Bhatia was earlier approached for the role and now, the Hassan girl is in discussion to finalise the deal. Shruti has become extremely busy in Tollywood off late, signing one film after another. Her next film with Junior NTR, Ramayya Vasthavayya is ready to release while her project with Allu Arjun, Race Gurram is in production. Shruti will also be seen starring opposite Ram Charan in Vamsi Paidipally’s Yevadu. Looking at the kind of projects she has in hand, Shruti looks promising to play that much sought role opposite Prince Mahesh. Srinu Vaitla will be trying yet another blockbuster like his earlier one with Mahesh, Dookudu. Aagadu, interestingly rhymes in the game of success.

Are Charmme’s accusations a publicity stunt?

Actress Charmme created quite an uproar with her comments on being ‘cheated’ by many directors when a sleazy inage of hers was leaked out into the media. Charmme looked all upset and made an open statement saying that some films will remain as black spots in her career and that some directors have cheated her. The picture that came out was taken during her shooting for the film Mayagadu, which stars Venu and Charmme in the leads. The actress has accused the film director to have shot her in vulgar angles without her own knowledge. Incidentally, her film Prema Oka Maikam has released today which has Charmme playing the role of a call girl. Could these acusations be a part of publicity stunt to promote her film? The film showcases the actress in a never before seen bold image.

Nag junior relies heavily on dad

Naga Chaitanya admitted that he always looks up to his father in times of crisis. He runs his scripts with Nagarjuna when in doubt, and signs projects when fully convinced about his role. Chaitanya says that Nag has been his guiding force since his childhood and not just after entering films. There have been instances where there were differences of opinion between the two. But then a sense of mutual understanding always works between them. The one advice that Naga Chaitanya always received from his dad to pursue his calling is ‘doing what he loved’. He loves getting feedback from his father and grandfather, post watching his films. Chaitanya is currently busy shooting for Manam, which stars all the three generations of Akkineni family. He is also eagerly awaiting the release of Auto Nagar Surya.
